Sam Blair is a documentary director and editor. A graduate of the UK's National Film and Television School, since releasing his BFI and adidas funded debut feature, Personal Best, in cinemas in 2012, he has worked on a number of films for the big and not so big screens. In 2014 he made the ESPN 30 for 30 – Maradona '86, for Passion Pictures and went on to work with Passion again in 2016 on the feature documentary Keep Quiet, which premiered in competition at the Tribeca Film Festival. In 2018, Make Us Dream, a feature documentary about the footballer Steven Gerrard, was released in cinemas and on Amazon Prime, for Box to Box. Sam has recently finished editing two episodes of the music series 1971, produced by On The Corner for Apple TV+. Sam has also directed and edited for arts organisations such as Artangel and Forensic Architecture and is a visiting tutor at the NFTS.
